I made this card for my niece’s Birthday. First, I just tied the candle on with a bow but it kept slipping, then I pulled the ribbon too tight and broke the candle. So, I used transparent nylon thread to sew another candle to the card. Of course then I had to make a box style envelope for it so I didn’t crush the candle.

The tag is 2 layers – the white border with welded name is overlayed on the purple background card.

The inspiration for my card came from a couple of different places….
I loved how Valerie from Paper & Cookies used the candle instead of the letter “I” on this card . She herself had been inspired by a candle being used as a number 1 on a card.
Since buying and making this design by Kolette Hall from the Silhouette Store, I was inspired to make a few personalised name Cards that also used a word/name as the hinge to join the card pieces together. The idea really quite versatile for all sorts of occasion cards and is an extension of that idea.
The word “Wish” is just a welded extension of the back panel which folds over and is glued to the separate front panel.
