Things have been hectic around here. Free File Friday is a little late – Saturday morning here already but it’s still Friday in some parts of the world π
I’ve made up another patterned cut panel. My most repinned photo on Pinterest is 4 patterns which I made earlier in the year.Β I started this new one a few weeks ago and can’t remember the exact process – I think I overlapped circles and welded them together and did a lot of replicating. I may have even used the subtract feature. I think I’ll have to start taking notes!
When I test cut the design,Β I cut it at 9cm square. I thought maybe at that size they’d make good coasters. I fitted 6 on one piece of A4 cardstock.
A warning though – it’s an intricate pattern and it takes a little while to cut that many.
I’ve also included a plain Square in the file in case you want to do a contrasting backing.
Here’s a coaster in action…
Excuse my makeshift styling of the pic – It would look better if I had wine in the glass and maybe a wheel of camembert alongside but at 7.30 AM that’s not going to happen π This is what’s happening in reality….
As coasters, they wouldn’t last forever but I thought they’d be a cute idea for a special dinner or party so that you could match colours with the decor or theme.
If you enlarge the pattern to fit a 12×12 inch piece of card you could make a matching square placemat too.
Apart from using them in Scrapbooking and on Cards (and these coasters!) – what else can you use background panels for? Any suggestions?
Anyway, Here’s the file – Hope you like!
