I made a couple of cards this week.
One was a Birthday card. I wanted to make the card like a ” faux present” with a “gift tag” but I’m not sure I’m happy with the ribbon on this one, I used organza over satin.
Next time I try this idea I think I’ll make the “present” on a raised cut out panel instead of the body of the card, then I can tuck and secure the excess ribbon behind the panel. On this card I cut the ribbon flush with the card edge and it could fray. I may even try it with cardstock “ribbon” next time to see how that works.
Earlier in the year I posted 4 Background patterns and shared the file. It’s been really popular and is my most pinned image from this blog. I still had the test cut samples lying around and I was able to use one of them to make this Sympathy card. I was pleased with how this turned out – I was looking for something understated but elegant. I made a fairly simple Print & Cut for the front message and raised it on a contrast disc for added interest.
It’s been a full on card week as I’m also making a Baby Shower Card but it’s not finished yet so that’ll be for another post.
Cheers,
Pam
