Happy New Year! I hope 2014 is being kind to you so far and will continue to be so 🙂 I’m looking forward to a great year ahead!
I love little boxes! When I was selling my metalwork jewellery I was always looking for neat ways to package it. How I wish I had my Cutting machine back then!
This little triangle box is just right for small items like Earrings, Rings or any other kind of little treasure. This one’s just a little bit different from the usual triangular pyramid style gift boxes as it’s a flat triangle.
Fold in the back flaps to sit inside the front flaps (or vice versa!) and secure with twine, ribbon or cord threaded through at the top points of the triangle. You can adjust the size as required, depending on the size of the cardstock you are using.
When I test cut these boxes I noticed that at the side, the edges of the box flare out slightly at the bottom. You can see what I mean if you look carefully at the top light blue box below.
I didn’t mind this but it was a tad more noticable in the larger size box and it’s easy to secure if needed with a teensy bit of double sided tape. Another option is to use a longer length of ribbon to run around the edges before you tie the bow at the top. Here’s a diagram of how I did it on the green box.
Here it is with each corner all secured with the ribbon as in the diagram above.
This one is just secured through the top holes.
The cut file is for a plain box but you can change it up by adding embellishments or cut outs to the surface or even cutting a “window” shape from it.
Great little box I have a cute cookie cutter gift that would fit perfectly, thanks for the file Pam!
Thanks LJ! My pleasure 😉
Thanks Pam! I just received a Cameo for Christmas so I’ve been having lots of fun trying things out and discovering what’s available. I stumbled across your site and am so glad I did! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks Kate, Glad you found me! I agree – there’s a lot of fun to be had with the Cameo 🙂
Very unique gift boxes. Love them.
Have a creative day.

Thanks Pam for all your hard work i only wish i could design cut files perhaps i am a bit to old to learn but you never know lol
Thanks Patricia! I reckon go for it – I’m not that young myself, I do like using the silhouette software though – I’m trying to get my head around Inkscape but so far it’s been a struggle LOL
