Happy Valentine’s Day!ย Hope it’s a good one for you!ย Go easy on Enjoy those chocolates ๐
Last week I promised they’d be no more Hearts! So today I’ve got something completely different – a cute card that’s sure to put a smile on your face!
This is a really quick project and great for Kid’s Birthdays or even as a Get Well Card.ย Cut out the Card from Yellow Cardstock and the features from Black. I used Foam tape to adhere the eyes and smile – by raising them up it gives the card a bit more interest. Then I added a little ribbon bow, attached with double sided tape. Too easy!
And when the card’s opened – Ta Da! there’s a cut out word “Smile” …..
A couple of Tips
- If you’re using Textured Card, either flip the main card design horizontally or place the cardstock textured side down on the cutting mat. This will ensure the texture is on the front cover of the card and the smooth surface is on the inside.
- Stick the foam tape to the underside of the eyes and mouth but before you attach them to the card, colour the sides of the foam tape with a black sharpie. This will help it blend in with the black eyes and mouth.ย This is especially handy when fixing on thin shapes, where the white foam tape may show when looking at the card from some angles. I didn’t take my own advice and although I tried to colour it in afterwards, you can still see some white parts of foam.
The File
Here’s the Silhouette Studio File. Hope it brings a smile to your face.

This is just what I need, but alas I have a Cricut & not a Silhouette, wish it was an svg file. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Hi T,
Sorry about that, I haven’t had time to learn a program that makes SVGs yet!
You could try designing a similar one in your Cricut design space. The card is just two circles welded together. And the rest is pretty basic shapes like ovals for the eyes etc etc
Worth a try anyway ๐
