I’ve been having fun with the weld tool. I love making patterned panels which are also known as Overlays.
This one is made up of lots of circles and can be used for any project where you’d normally use an overlay. As usual I’ve included a few options:
Choose from the pattern with a solid centre, or a cut out centre, then there’s a choice of 2 backing panels if you’d like to put a contrasting colour behind the overlays. One is the same size as the overlays and the other is offset. That one has the circle cut out too but you can easily ungroup and remove that if you want a solid panel.
Phew! The problem I have is knowing when to stop! I thought I’d better quit while I was ahead as I’d run out of room on the mat! LOL!
I couldn’t resist adding a separate small circle too, so you can inlay the design with different colours too, just like I have in the my card below.
For this card I resized the overlays to 10cm to fit a pre cut card base I was using as the original file has 12 cm panels.
I made the card for landscape orientation but when I was taking the picture I realised it would work as portrait too, then I got wondering if, with the text running in that direction – does it look odd in Landscape orientation? What do you think – odd or OK? LOL
Here’s the Silhouette Studio Cutting File. It’ll have you running around in circles 😉
Thanks so much for the file – you are a treasur!
My only thought on the landscape way would be to turn the sentiment around so it is a bit more ‘connected’ with the rest of the card – it is awesome BTW
Thanks Glennis, that’s a great idea! Will definately try that next time! Not game to with this one as I used that double sided foam tape stuff and that stuff sure makes a mess if you try and lift it – He he – I’ve wrecked many a good project in the past trying!
Thanks. Your card is great, perfect for a guy or anyone who doesn’t want something girly!
Thanks Sue, I have to admit I like things that aren’t too “girly” myself.
Buenísimo!!! vAMOS A PRÁCTICAR
