Although I design quite a few cut files, I also like to use other people’s designs too. I’d seen these 3D Box cards around on the net and thought I’d give one a try. I had my niece’s Birthday coming up which gave me a great excuse to have a go at these.
Here’s my effort. First the outside:
And when opened up:
I decorated the envelopes with scraps. and the little parcel at the front is some wrapped up money. The woodgrain is not paper – it’s actually some Book Covering Adhesive Contact. I did all of the text with the Silhouette using the sketch pens.
The cards look a bit complicated but they’re really not hard and there’s an assembly video available too which is handy (Details below)
I’d also used the same combo of woodgrain, with the patterned paper and kraft paper to wrap up a gift for a friend last month – I rather liked the muted tones although it’s not my usual style. I’m trying to break out and use patterns a little more.
Credit where Credit’s Due:
The 3D box card is design number 56156 by Lori Whitlock available in the Silhouette Store. The links to the assembly video are there too if you get one of these files. I’m going to try out the Easter Design next. (no affiliation – I just think these are cool)
Hey! Thanks for hosting your very first link up! Eeekk! How exciting!! Your card is beautiful! My mom actually made me a similar one for my birthday just recently. It was the first I had seen like that and I was just in awe! I’m having some trouble with your blog button so I’ll just post a link to your page on my post, for now.
Thanks Janice,
I see you got it sorted out because I can see your link there now . Your Baby Cards are just great! Thanks so much for linking up. I was afraid I’d be all alone at my own Party …He He…

Thanks for linking up to Tip Me Tuesday linky party this week Pam. {knuckle bumps} Did you know that I can “lend” your blog posts my Google page rank for better search engine traffic? {fabulous} If you upload at least 2 images, 2 steps, and blog post URL into your Tip Junkie craft room, you’ll be in business! {wink} ~ Laurie {a.k.a. the Tip Junkie}

Your 3-D box is fabulous!! I haven’t been brave enough to try one yet.
Thanks for inviting me to link up with you too! I’d seen the information in your email (I’m a subscriber) but sometimes need a little boost in the extra busyness of life so do appreciate you taking the time to offer a personal invitation. I did use my most recent project though. 🙂
Now I’m having fun visiting the others in the link-up!
