This design is a variation of the Lacy Medallion Overlays that I posted in April. I sliced a medallion in half and added it to this open envelope style of Gift Card Holder. By “open envelope”, I mean that the envelope is not glued – it’s fastened by a pretty ribbon. If ribbon is not your thing, then a tiny bit of double sided tape on the underside of the flap would also secure it.
Here it is:
And well, no need to stop there…. I added a contrast backing to the lace cut outs which really makes the lacy pattern pop:
And on the inside
There’s plenty of space to write a message – on the top (if you’ve added a contrast backing) or the bottom flap or even behind the card. As you can see below, the insert that holds the card can be removed.

Hi Pam,
Thanks for the free file this is great.
Since you are if I am not mistaken a fellow South Australian, could you tell me what brand of paper you use for your projects & where you source it from please.
Cheers
Denise

Hi Denise, Glad you like the file 🙂
Yes, I’m a fellow Aussie but from Perth not S.A
I bought a few packs of 60, 12 x 12 inch sheets of American Craft brand card stock from Spotlight a while back which I’m still using. It has a textured linen surface. The card in this project is from one of those – from a mixed pack of pastel colours. For untextured card in white I use the Panther Brand of A4 – 210gms. Over here, it’s available in newsagents. Also I have a pack of plain A4 black card in 210gm which is Quill Brand and I think I got that from Officeworks. I like that because it’s a nice deep black not faded or washed out looking!
Hope that helps a bit 🙂

Hi Pam,
Thanks for that. I thought it may have been AC Paper. I didn’t realise that spotlight sold it so will have a look
there next time I”m in there, that would be loads easier than having to wait for it to be delivered after buying it on line. I have also used quite a bit of the Quill brand from office works. Keep up the good designing.
Cheers
Denise
