Free File Friday seems to come around quickly and after this one there’s only 4 more Fridays until Christmas. Aaargh! I’d better get organised.
This week I’ve got a Christmas Themed Overlay to share. I’ve test cut it from Contact (but vinyl would work great too) and I’ve decorated a glass jar, a “Milk Bottle” and a matching Gift Tag. Filled with lollies or homemade goodies, these would make cute little gifts.
Here’s a close up
I used a brand new blade for these – the “strings” the baubles are hanging from are hairline thin especially in the tag below!
Here’s another pic so you can see the scale – you can resize to suit any project.
This overlay should work equally as wellΒ cut from paper or card stock for a Christmas Card or Gift Wrap.
Credit Where Credit’s Due
The reindeer part of the file was adapted from thisΒ reindeer image. I used it last year too, when I made this Print & Cut Card.
The Cutting Files.
Here’s the Reindeer Overlay File for Version 3 of the Studio Software (test cuts done on this)
Here’s the Reindeer Overlay File for Version 2 of the Studio Software
Looking for more Christmas Posts? Here they are….
And before I go….Anyone spot my mistake? I forgot to weed the antlers on the overlay on the large jar before taking the pics – Doh! I’ve fixed it now π
Thank you, this is so versatile that I can’t wait to put it to use!
Thanks Sue – Glad you like it and hope you do use it – love to see pics of what you do with it.
This is a great project! I would love for you to link up at the Home Matters Linky Party going on now. http://www.oursecondhandhouse.com

Thanks for visiting Joanne and for the pin too π
I was wondering if these cutting files work with anything other than a Silhouette cameo machine?
Hi Stacy, they were designed in the software that comes with the Silhouette machines, so they are in that format.
I don’t think they would work in other machines. On my ‘to do’ list is to learn/get Inkscape or illustrator and make the files in SVG format which is a more universal format – but that’s somewhere off in the future. So sorry but no. π
Thank you for responding π I will see what I can come up with with that pattern!
I am loving all of your Christmas ideas! Thanks for sharing this at the Say G’Day linky party. I’ve just pinned your post!
Best wishes,
Natasha in Oz
Thanks for your kind words Natasha and for the pin!
Thank you so much for this file. I used it to make a Christmas card. I squared up the design, gave the reindeer a tartan bow and backed it with Christmas music.
Thanks Kay, I love it when someone tells me they used one of my files! Your card sounds wonderful. Love to see a pic that I can share.
I would love to show you a photo, but do not know how to do that here.
I’d love to see a photo Kay. You could upload it to my Facebook page (if you’re on facebook) here

If not – if you don’t upload it in the next few day I’ll email you with my email address instead. π
Awesome! I really need to kick things in gear before Christmas is over. I would love for you to link up over at Scraptastic Saturdays. I pin all projects and share via Facebook and Twitter. Hope you have the chance to drop by. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks Andrea. Got there a bit late this week but I’ll swing over next week π
Thank you so much! Great job on it!
