Well the tree’s up. Last year I wanted to decorate the tree with a colour theme and my daughter suggested yellow but after a trip to the shops to get some yellow decorations, I came home empty handed. Not even one! I’m not sure why that surprised me really 😉 So, I high tailed it to the craft shop and bought a couple of different shades of yellow card stock.
I made a bunch of decorations with the Cameo using assorted Silhouette files that I had in my Library. So after all that cutting I’m using them all again this year (and probably next year too!)
Which brings me to this week’s Free File – I’m sharing a couple of Christmas Tree Bauble designs and I’ve made my samples in yellow to match in with my other yellow decs. Of course if you use the file, cutting them in yellow isn’t mandatory 😉
Here’s a close up (before I attached the hanger)
and the finished decorations complete with their hangers which I cut from Silver paper. I also put a mirror image cut out of the hanger on the back to strengthen it up a bit too.
The Options
Once again, there’s options! Use all the layers or not. In both my samples above I used the top layer and the offset layer, For the “Peace” Bauble I backed it with the solid layer but left that off for the “Noel” Bauble, so you can see through it. There’s two sizes of the hanger – which one you use will depend on if you use the offset layer or not. Mix & Match the layers however you like. This will give you an idea….
The Free Files.

When I try to open in my Portrait, it says it is too wide (12 inch vs9 in). Is there any way I can fix the problem that you know of?
Pam says
So you can’t open and access the files at all Joyce?
I’m not sure why, because if you were able to open them, it would be a simple matter of changing the mat and page size in the page settings and and then you could un group and re arrange the different parts to fit on your 9 inch wide mat as desired.
I don’t have a portrait so can’t test it out, but some of my other online friends with Silhouettes may be able to help – I’ll ask them.
In the meantime – I’ve emailed you a file re sized to fit on a letter size page and mat – hope that opens for you. 🙂

Yes, it won’t open at all. I tried another file from your site and it worked perfectly so I don’t know what’s up. Thank you so much though!
