I wanted a small ring dish for my dressing Table to pop my rings in at night so I turned to Pinterest for a bit of inspiration. There’s so many beautiful examples there that I put together a board of Trinket Dishes. For this project I wanted to make a dish that I could decorate using my Silhouette.

I bought a couple of small white dishes from a kitchen ware section at a local store, they’re the type you’d use for a side sauce. They were inexpensive too. Mine were about 7cm across and about 3 cm deep.
Options
There’s two choices: Just use the text and pop the Diamond shape elsewhere like this or leave it off if desired.
or in this version the diamond shape replaces the dot above the letter “i”.
Handy Hints
- I cut my design from contact paper which worked well. Originally I used a glitter contact paper and another thicker silver book covering but neither cut very well at all and I ended up wrecking them when I was weeding them. I think the Diamond design is too tiny for anything out of the ordinary. Or….it could have been my blade, so perhaps use a nice new blade and regular smooth vinyl.
- Working at this small scale was a bit awkward and because of the depth of the dish, it was tricky to centre the vinyl in position on the bowl. I ended up using clear sticky tape instead of transfer paper and it worked like a dream as I could see exactly where I was positioning it. I “unstickied” it a little first, by dabbing it on my T Shirt about 4 times before sticking it on the vinyl design.

What font did you use?
Hi Leslie,
It’s a font called Very Berry Pro. I had to offset it a bit too as it was very skinny in places.
Thank you
