Here’s my first Christmas Project for the season. I’ve upcycled and adapted my previous design of little triangular treat or gift boxes and added some extra festive embellishments.
Hope you like them – First up is a Santa Hat Box with a “fur” trim and a pom pom. I embossed the white card stock for a bit of added interest.
And a Santa Belt Buckle Box – I used a “stainless steel” style of book covering (contact paper) I attached it to a backing of copy paper and the ran them both through the cutting machine.
This shape makes a great tree too! A Christmas Tree Box topped with a little star and some dots which I’ve cut from scraps of leftover Printable foil – I just cut the little dots with a hole punch – super easy! Or use sticker paper or glitter. I had some glitter contact paper but the hole punch stretched it. If you wanted to use vinyl or contact it may be easier to cut the dots with your Silhouette machine.
Options
- I cut my boxes from white card stock as I didn’t have enough red card on hand. I had just enough red to overlay a red triangle on the front of the boxes and I stuck the embellishments to that first and attached it all to the box. If you have plenty of red (or another desired colour) just cut the entire box from that instead and then there’s no need for the extra triangle. That’s how I’ve did the Christmas tree box – cut directly with green card.
- Fill with treats or use as a gift box for little items such as jewellery.
- Resize (if needed) and hang on the Tree.
