You may remember that last year I posted a variation on a Braided Edge Card.Β The traditional Braided edge card has triangular shaped cut outs and I shared a file with a semi circular cut out instead.
This week I’m sharing a similar card design except I’m going Square! Yes, this one is made up of Semi-Squares (If there’s such a thing!)
I like this one too as it lends itself quite nicely to more masculine type designs.
The Options
Here’s a process picture of the card after cutting and folding. You can see that I’ve got to attach that bottom shape to the top of the card to fill the void made when the top shape was folded down. I explain it more in depth on this post.
Here it is glued in place
Included in the file are two options – one without any perforated lines for the centre fold and one with the dotted lines. I prefer to fold the card using my Scor Pal or a similar scoring board but if you don’t have a scoring board use the file with the perforations. Read my comments at the link above for more info on braided cards.
This is what it looked like after folding and before decoration
As you can see I kept the decoration pretty simple with an embossed panel and a cut out gift tag (Find the Free cut file for the tag here)

I love your braided cards. I have three on the go on my desk just waiting for the embellishments.
THANK YOU so much for sharing. They are all so gorgeous.

I thought it was about time I commented, I have been downloading your designs for sometime and I have never even said thank you. I just want you to know how much I appreciate the designs you share with us, so, thank you, also for the clear instructions to go with them all.
