I made a Text box! Just joking – I actually made a versatile basic small square Treat or trinket box, handy for all sorts of uses….. Decorated with text!
This was inspired by a purchased package of loose leaf tea. I rather liked the box it came in and thought I’d try and replicate it.
I was pretty pleased how it turned out. I used Photoshop Elements to make up the template before moving it into the Silhouette Software – I hope to do a tutorial on the process steps and share the technique with you in the near future. I want to try to replicate a gorgeous box I saved a couple of years back which held a tube of hand cream. So this simple square box was good to practice on.
The Options.
I printed a digital design on a sheet of Card stock and cut the box as a regular cut from the printed card stock.
I didn’t cut the dotted fold lines but I’ve included them in the cut file. If like me, you prefer to use a Scor Pal to score the fold lines instead, then un-group the design and move the perforated lines off the mat.
Add cut outs to the box if desired, just like my other files the cat box and the rabbit box.
Credit Where Credit’s Due
The digital paper was designed by Melstampz. She offers lots of wonderful designs and freebies. Do check out her blog and explore all her offerings. If you like the paper I used, here’s the direct link
On the box at the back below I just copied and pasted some “Lorem Ipsum” text into a word document and printed the card Stock from that.
