Today I want to share a tip about Circular cards.
When I first started making and cutting my own cards I was pleased to be able to cut cards out that were different shapes – not just squares and rectangles.
My First shaped card was a circle shape. I made this Happy Face Card.
You probably can’t help noticing that it’s a bit short of a full circle. That’s because when I tried to stand it up it just rolled off to the side.Β To fix this I cut the bottom off and it now stands to attention and looks cute even though it’s no longer a perfect circle.
Here’s a better way
While this was a good solution, I’ve now got a better one! Here’s another circular card – I popped it on the table and it rolled a little to the side just like my card above.
This time, instead of taking the bottom off the entire card, I sliced only the bottom from the back of the card. Just like this…
I used a scalpel but you could also change the Cutting File before cutting on your machine. Use the knife tool and hold down the Shift key as you drag the knife to get a nice straight cut.
Now that’s better…. nice and straight but the front looks just the same!
I’d love you to pin this to help me spread the word…. Thank you π
