Today’s tip is about card making and I thought it was great, although I may actually be the last person on Earth that has discovered this great method!
I often embellish my handmade cards by tying twine around the spine of the card with a knot at the top with the tails hanging down decoratively on the outside. This looks perfectly fine but I have now discovered an alternative method, which gives a similar effect but doesn’t have the bulk of a knot at the top or the twine running the entire length in the inside of the card.
Here’s how…
- Punch a small hole on the spine of the card. Cut a length of twine and fold it in half. Optional : If you are adding beads to the twine etc do it now. I added them by wrapping sticky tape around the end of the twine which helped me thread the twine through the bead hole. I leave the sticky tape on until I’m ready to tie off the ends later.
- Push the loop of the twine from the inside of the card to the outside.
- Close the card and thread the two twine tails through the loop. Sorry for typo in pic below Tread = Thread. #proofreadfail!
- Pull taut and arrange so the twine so it sits flat. Cut and tie off the ends of tails to keep the beads secure.
- Inside View
- Close up outside
- All done!
What neat idea – looks great too.
