Today I’m chatting about the Silhouette Life Inspiration Box. I was thrilled to receive a Silhouette Life Inspiration Box (SLIB) from Becky and Glenna in the mail last week.
What is The Silhouette Life Inspiration Box?
It’s a monthly mail out by subscription of carefully selected goodies to use with the Silhouette (or other Brand of) Cutting Machine. Contents vary each month but include enough to enable you to craft at least 5 projects from each box. Subscribers to the box can get Step by Step Tutorials, Cut files, and support via an Exclusive Members only Facebook Group too.
What’s in the Box?
A Happy Mail Surprise! Yes, really, It’ll be a nice surprise – you won’t know until you open the box! This much I can tell you: each month’s box contains a selection of products and consumables or maybe tools, all carefully selected by Becky, Glenna and the team from SLIB from their reputable sponsors, all well respected established suppliers.
The image below shows the contents of a previous box. From the list below, you can see that that box was choc full of a variety of blanks and supplies. Perfect opportunity to try out something you may not have attempted before.
What was in the box I received?
All this! So many fun things arrived in The September Box. Silhouette Life were celebrating a full year of supplying the boxes and went with a Wine and Dine theme for that month. Everything pictured above was included except the Wine!
I received blanks -my favourite being a lovely Coral Stainless Steel Tumble. (For a wine project, but it’s the perfect size for me to cart around a cuppa too!) 2 wine glass Charms, wine bottle Apron and Hat Set (Yes! we absolutely should all dress up our wine bottles!) A fabulous Wine glass Caddy which balances on a bottle of wine and holds 2 wine glasses (not included) and also some Clear glass Gems. That’s not all, as all the supplies needed to turn these into fun finished items were all supplied too: holographic vinyl, Transfer Tape, Shrinky Dink Sheets, Inkjet paper, label sheets, magnets, adhesive.
The team run a Facebook Private Group where the Sample photos can be viewed along with links to detailed tutorials for each project. Down load or and even print the tutes if desired. Use the Cutting Files provided or alternatively, use the blanks and products with other cut files and designs of your own. The Group Admin and community offers support, so if you have any questions about a project, or if you’d simply like to share what you’ve made head to the Facebook Group. When you receive your first box you will be given an email address to request to join the group. Shoot off an email request and you’ll have your group invitation in no time.
Look what I made …
I used a Cutting File provided and the supplies in the box to put this lovely Mandala Design on the Stainless Steel mug. So Sparkle..arkely!
Then I decorated the wine glass Caddy – love this! There was a choice of templates in the cut files available and I used a plain one and added circle cutouts – There was enough hologram vinyl to decorate this but I opted to use a copper vinyl of my own. That’s the beauty of the boxes, you can mix and match the supplies and designs with your existing stash!
And…There’s more fun to come, I still have the Printable Transfer and the Shrinky Dink Projects to try out. Here’s my spiffy looking Wine Bottle waiting patiently for his inkjet transfer Apron decoration.
In the meantime I couldn’t resist using a leftover bit of that Vinyl to accent a Christmas Card I made with Metal Dies…It’s so gorgeous I didn’t want to waste a scrap!
