Hello, I hope you all had a lovely Holiday or Christmas. We had a lovely time, our family get together was just a small group of 9 this year but a lovely time none the less.
Food wise we’ve finished the Christmas leftovers here, but blog wise I’ve moved on to the next “event” LOL.
Today, I have a “Cheers to the New Year” Sentiment. It could be cut from any kind of vinyl and used on an ice bucket or other decor or as a clothing project too, or use it as a Print and Cut as I have – (details below)
The Cutting File.
Use as a regular cut file or as a Print and Cut.
Here’s the “Cheers to The New Year” Cutting File in Silhouette Studio and SVG.
If you use V3 of Silhouette Studio, just a heads up…
It’s been bought to my attention that my recent files may not cut if you are using V3 of the Software. Thanks to my reader Myrna for letting me know ๐ My understanding was that Files designed in V4, as mine are, would be compatible with the V3 software but I may be mistaken as V3 software doesn’t seem to be playing nice with my V4 designed Files. I did some testing and have had the exact same V3 issues as Myrna. If you have designer edition you may be able to cut the SVG File instead – It worked for me. Remember select the design and turn the cut setting on once the file is imported. Another solution, is to update to V4 but I understand that some may be reluctant to do that, so I have reached out to Silhouette Support for alternative solutions. I’ll keep you posted when I hear anything.
What I Made
I made a little sign to pop in an ice bucket. First I printed it out on my laser printer in black ink on regular copy paper and cut it out, then I ran it through my laminator with Rose Gold Foil {see a tuteย here} to make it sturdier and water proof. I’ve attached it to a florist pick to insert it in the ice bucket. Or cut from vinyl and pop directly on an ice bucket or drink container instead.
Thanks for your support through out 2017 and here’s to a fabulous 2018 for all of us.
Ooo So Pretty_ I’m going to see if I can try using my gold embossable foil with my Curio. My fist go at using the foil made me cry and think about throwing my Curio away but some time has passed and I think I’m ready to have another go at it. I have a large platform for the Curio so maybe I’ll just go crazy. I tried my hand at screen printing yesterday. The results made me cry especially since I know exactly where I went wrong.
Happiest of New Years to you!
Thomasina, I know the feeling of investing so much time in a project and having it fail! It’s devastating. Aren’t they such expensive learning curves too!
Good luck with this one, I don’t have a curio, so I’d love to see your results. Feel free to post a pic on my Facebook page, as I’m sure my readers would be interested too.

Thank you for this and the many other free cuts I am enjoying. Wishing you a safe and happy New Year.
Thank you for this file! It looks great as a foiled sign ๐ Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Pam to you and yours.
Thank you for your hard work on our behalf. I tried a whole new approach to the downloads and yes, I can get the SVGs to work. That makes me happy that I finally got them to work because I hate not being able to use your files. However, having said that, I do hope the Silhouette files will soon work too.
Yes, I must get my stumps stirred and get V4.installed. ๐
Hugs,
Myrna
