Today I’m sharing a Cute Greeting Card File that is super quick to cut and assemble. It’s a Peephole Card and although I’ve decorated it up for Christmas, it really could be used for any occasion.
Pretty much, a decorative embellishment on the inside shows through a hole in the front of the card and becomes part of the decoration. On my card I’ve placed a die cut reindeer but it can be any shape or a even a text sentiment.
Assembly & Decoration
The file includes the card base and a matching overlay panel that is slightly smaller than the card front. The peepholes will line up – both are sized the same.
I used a simple embossed texture on the overlay, added a Ribbon which I attached at the back with tape and “cinched” in the middle front. I secured it with thread which was covered by my simple die cut and stamped Sentiment.
I attached the Reindeer last with the card closed and placed it through the hole onto the inside of the card for accurate placement.
Just a tip – When you write on the card, write in an area where it won’t show through the peephole. Place it off to the side or lower down on the card so your message can’t be seen until the card is opened. I placed my stamped sentiment a little lower than usual, and will write my handwritten greeting below that.
Resizing
I made my card 12 x 12 cm. As it’s a simple square card it may be resized to any square size suitable for your project..

Hi Pam,
I have been using your cutting files for a long time and never had this problem. I cannot get it to cut in my Cameo. The cut lines won’t come up. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Myrna

Hi Myrna, how weird! Which software are you using – Silhouette? Or another program? I’m not sure why as my sample cut fine but I’m assuming you have gone into the cut settings already to double check that the cut lines are set to “cut”. ? Svg cut lines need to be turned on in Silhouette after importing the file, but I suspect you may have checked that already.

Hi Pam
I am using Silhouette but have tried both that and svg to no avail. I will try downloading again and see what happens.
Thanks

P.s. It is the peep hole card I am trying to cut and neither the svg or Silhouette file will do it for me. 🙁
